Draft — under legal review. This policy describes how BabyBadger works today. It is not final and may change before launch.

Privacy Policy

Draft of October 7, 2026 · Applies in the United States only

The short version

  • A sitter’s location is shared with a family only between clock-in and clock-out of that family’s shift. Never before, never after.
  • Every sitter reads and signs a monitoring notice for each family before her first shift.
  • Parents see their own family. Sitters see their own data and only the families they work for. Families never see each other.
  • We don’t sell your information and we don’t show ads.
  • When a plan ends, we keep the family’s data for 12 months so you can come back, then delete it.

Who we are

BabyBadger is an app for parents and the babysitters they hire, made by JobBadger LLC in Tampa, Florida (“BabyBadger”, “we”, “us”). This policy covers the BabyBadger apps for iPhone and Android, the web app, and babybadger.app. Questions: help@babybadger.app.

Payments

Subscriptions for parents will be handled by Stripe. Stripe collects your card or bank details; we never see or store your full card number. We keep the Stripe customer ID, the plan, its status and dates. In-app payments between parents and sitters are not available yet; when they launch, they will also go through Stripe.

How we use it

We don’t sell personal information, we don’t share it for advertising, and we don’t build profiles to target ads.

Who can see what

These rules are enforced in our database, not only in the app.

The monitoring notice

Before her first shift with a family, a sitter sees exactly what that family will see, signs a monitoring notice, and allows location on her phone. The notice explains that location is shared only between clock-in and clock-out, what parents can and can’t see, and that she can stop working with the family at any time. Both sides keep a copy. A sitter can stop sharing by clocking out; she can also leave a family at any time.

Children’s information

Kids don’t have accounts in the parent or sitter apps. Information about children is added by their parents, and shared only with the sitters those parents invite. BabyBadger is not directed to children under 13. We are building a separate kids’ app; it is not available yet.

The kids’ app (coming soon)

When it is available, the kids’ app turns an old phone or tablet into a child’s device. A parent sets it up and controls it from their own account: the device is paired with a one-time code and shares nothing until a parent approves it. It collects the device’s location and shares it only with that family’s parents, and with the sitter on shift only during her shift.

We follow the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). Consent comes from the parent through the parent’s account. The kids’ app shows no ads, and we never sell children’s data. Parents can delete their child’s data, or remove the device, at any time. Before the kids’ app launches we will update this policy with the full details.

Service providers

We use a small number of companies to run BabyBadger. They process data only on our instructions:

We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect someone’s safety, or as part of a merger or sale of the business (with this policy still applying).

How long we keep it

Your choices and rights

Security

Data is encrypted in transit, files are stored privately, and access rules in the database limit each person to what they are allowed to see. No system is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach that affects you, we will tell you as the law requires.

Changes

We will post changes here and, for important ones, tell you in the app or by email before they take effect.
